Swimsuit season is fast approaching and with Summer coming up many expecting moms will need a maternity swimsuit to wear on the warm beaches they go to for vacation destinations. Whether you are headed to a beach vacation spot or just signing up for a water aerobics class, you will need a maternity swimsuit during your pregnancy.
Don’t count on your old suit fitting you. If you want to wear your old bikini as a maternity swimsuit, then that’s not a problem, except your stomache will be sticking out for the whole world to see.
If your pre-pregnancy suit is a one-piece, it’s not going to stretch enough to accommodate your belly. You really need to find a bathing suit made to fit during your pregnancy – a real maternity swimsuit.
Halterkinis and Tankinis are great alternatives to a one-piece or an all out bare all bikini (which most of us don’t have the guts to wear when expecting – or otherwise!).
The Halterkini and Tankini is a 2- piece maternity swimsuit with either an adjustable halter tie top or tank style straps and a belly skimming top.
Bottoms are all below the belly, which is ideal for your tummy to grow above the swimsuit. The Halter and Tankinis usually come in a wide variety of solids and patterns. Sometimes the bottoms are a solid with the top a pattern which gives a cute accent.
Both styles of maternity swimsuits allow you to be a bit flirtatious and stylish while not flashing a big pregnant belly to the world.
The Babydoll style is an even more modest yet fashionable style to choose from if you want full belly coverage and more bottom and hip coverage too.
If you do need a good one-piece maternity swimsuit, the styles we have give support to your tummy while still allowing plenty of belly stretch.
So whatever your maternity swimsuit personality, we have a flattering style for you and probably in your choice of color or pattern.
Our maternity swimsuits are made with plenty of spandex (which is the stretchy fiber) to take you through your entire pregnancy. Padded bras aren’t necessary, as you need to have softness in the bra area, as your breasts are usually tender. Ties around the neck will hold them up, as you can adjust them at will. Most of our suits have ties around the neck, and the ones that don't have super-stretchy fabric to fit all bust sizes.
Speaking of patterns, big bold prints such as tropical themes and jungle prints are back. For whatever reason, and it seems to happen every several years, tribal and jungle themes like leopard prints and zebra stripes make their way back to the runway. This year is no exception.
